Osteo arthritis affects the bone joints in any location of the human body. 

O.A is a self generated condition , meaning that no specific cause can be indicated as a reason for its onset. Genetic causes definitely play a role . However, poor nutrition , particularly calcium deficiency ; obesity combined with calcium deficiency;  are other direct causes. 

What happens is : the bones  are damaged by immune cells produced by our own body. The immune cells attack not just the bones , but also the bone joints. Under sustained attack , the bone joints become weak and loose their smooth surface and rub against each other, causing friction.and intense pain.
